Types of Fabric

Non-Woven
The most common fabric used is polypropylene (PP) non-woven which is a man-made material made using long and short fibres, used for its versatility as well as the amount of stock colours that available. PP non-woven bags can be made with or without lamination. PP woven bags are biodegradable but if they are not laminated, then are only recyclable.
Woven Fabric
The other most used bag material is woven which is a knitted man-made material. Commonly used to make tarps, this is stronger and longer lasting than non-woven. This material can be laminated and is only recyclable and not biodegradable.

Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET)

PET bags are made from recycled plastic bottles which makes it an excellent eco-friendly bag choice. You can choose a bag made from 100% PET to ones mixed with PP non-woven. PET bags can be laminated and are only recyclable.
Water Soluble
Fabric is made from ethylene alcohol and after use can be either thrown out as regular garbage where it will biodegrade or will melt at a predetermined temperature. This product is well suited for laundry and medical use where waste and dirty products can be burned or washed with minimal handling. Whether it’s put into a washer or burned this product leaves no residue due to its properties.
Biodegradable Polymer
Fabric is a made from an organic biodegrading enhancing polymer that is added to the plastic manufacturing process that can lead to the natural decomposition with only natural remnants left behind. It can be used to make not only bags but almost all plastic products can be made with this ingredient.
Jute
Jute is a natural plant fibre that is spun into thread to make a variety of products including bags. Jute is prized for its durability and strength. Jute is biodegradable and recyclable and can be dyed with a variety of colours.
Cotton
The original tried and true recyclable and biodegradable fabric that can also be laminated.
