How Ice Burner Premium works
Straight rock salt works, but the chloride brine it leaves behind soaks into concrete and soil, where freeze-thaw cycles and salt build-up cause scaling, corrosion and damage to plant roots over a season. Ice Burner Premium is a commercial ice melter built as a 3-way blend of sodium chloride, Calcium Magnesium Acetate (CMA) and magnesium chloride. It works to -23°C, and the CMA reduces corrosion and helps stop ice from bonding to the surface — a non-tracking ice melt that's gentler on concrete, asphalt and green space than straight rock salt, for parking lots, walkways and commercial properties across Western Canada.
- Step 1 — Spread the ice melter. Apply Ice Burner Premium ice melt to walkways, entrances, loading docks and parking areas before or after snow and freezing rain.
- Step 2 — The blend breaks the ice bond. The granules dissolve into a brine that lowers the freezing point of ice and snow, while the CMA helps loosen ice from the surface and reduces corrosion compared with straight rock salt.
